The Physics department comprises five teachers:

Our aims are:

• to prepare pupils for SQA Assessment
• to maximise the learning and personal development of the pupils whilst they are in the department.
• to increase the awareness of pupils to the relevance and usefulness of Physics in life.
•  to provide a stimulating learning environment which enables pupils to achieve their potential
  

After S1/S2 pupils have the option of taking the Standard Grade course in S3 and S4. In S5, the Intermediate 2 Physics course is available along with the Higher course, which is also taken by some S6 pupils. The Advanced Higher Physics course is studied in S6 by pupils who have shown significant aptitude and interest in the subject. All courses in the Physics department include a significant element of practical, 'hands-on' work supported by first-class material and web resources.
