School Opening Times
Parents and pupils are reminded that the school buildings open at 8.30am. The reason for this is that cleaning takes place in the corridors, stairs. toilets and other areas, up until that time. Therefore for Health and Safety reasons (wet floors, trailing cables, access to toilets etc), pupils should plan to arrive at the school not earlier than 8.30am.

To allow access to the shop from the school, a new path and gate have been under construction to the east of the school however this will not be open until there has been a satisfactory Risk Assessment completed and the pedestrian crossing is fully operational.
Waitrose are keen that school pupils would not be using the Service Station due to the potential dangers of being in a garage forecourt. Initially the store manager has asked that it would be S6 pupils who are using the main store at lunchtimes. This situation would be reviewed once the new path is opened and the initial rush of customers subsides. It should be noted that no pupil is allowed to leave the school campus at the morning interval.
With the imminent end to British Summer time, I hope you will take this opportunity to discuss with your children the importance of Road Safety, especially in crossing the main roads particularly in poorer weather and darker conditions.
The New East Gate
A new path has been installed at the East End of the school (Cardross) to allow access to the Waitrose Store.
The path starts behind the bin store at the Astro Turf pitch and leads down to the main road. All users of this route should ensure that they cross at the Pedestrian Crossing and not at the Bus Bays.
The gates will be open before school starts in the morning and will close at the end of the school day normally at 5pm.
No pupil should leave the school grounds during the morning interval or during class time.
The main entrance to the school, at the roundabout, is for vehicles only and should not be used by pedestrians during school hours.
With, the increase in traffic in the area, it is important that everyone observes Road Safety procedures.
Please see the note below about pupils access to the Waitrose Store.
