“Head down to the PTA’s next Car Boot Sale – OUTDOORS on Saturday 16th JUNE 11am–3pm (Churchill Square). We are joining forces with the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Welfare team for ‘Fair in the Square’ to celebrate Armed Forces Day! Funds raised from the sale will go towards our school clubs and activities, and a donation to the RN/RM Benevolent Trust.

Welcome to the Hermitage Academy Parent Teacher Association (PTA).

If this is your first introduction to the PTA please keep reading to find out what we do, who we are and how you can get involved!

The PTA is the fundraising arm of the school’s Parent Forum and provides financial support to the clubs and activities available to all the young people within Hermitage Academy. Represented by a voluntary committee of S1 to S6 parents it is also supported by other parent helpers, the teachers who run the school clubs & local businesses for their donations. In total the PTA have raised and awarded over £31,000 to more than 70 school clubs and activities in the last 5 years.

As parents you are automatically a member of the PTA, but you can also join the committee in a more official capacity, particularly if you have a spare couple of hours a month, new to the school, want to meet like-minded parents, or would like to learn new skills for your CV! We are encouraging more S1 to S2 new parents to join right now – sadly we won’t be here forever!

The current committee come from a wide variety of backgrounds, and all with a diverse range of skills. We are from left to right: Nicole, Emer, Marie, Penny, Michele and Ian:

Interested in, getting involved or joining the committee?

Whilst your length of time in post can range from 1 to 3 years, this can vary depending on your personal commitments. The committee meets regularly 5 times a year to; plan fundraising events; share out funds to clubs; and explore new ways to boost funds that will make a difference to our kids!

draw our main fundraising comes from our annual events:

Indoor Car Boot Sales: (3 a year)

Saturday 21 April: 11am – 2pm

Saturday 16 June: 11am – 2pm (with Fair in the Square)

Saturday 15 Sep: 11am – 2pm      

This year our biggest fundraiser the annual Christmas Craft Fair is on Saturday 10 Nov 11am–3pm. With an average of 90 craft stalls, this event attracts over 750 visitors and is the largest craft fair in Argyll and Bute.

  1. Donate Home baking or help to sell on our cake stall
  2. Spread the word about events – stick a poster in your car window
  3. Dress up as Santa or be an Elf at our Christmas Craft Fair
  4. Represent at Consultation/parents nights
  5. Help us to set up/clear away for events
  6. Sell raffle tickets!
  7. Join our ‘100 Club’ Raise funds & win some cash at the same time!
  8. Purchase via ‘Hermitage Academy’
  9. Donate a prize for the Christmas Raffle
