Welcome to the Hermitage Academy Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

Tue 14 May, 7pm, School Staff Room, AGM (followed by our PTA meeting – Welcome to the new committee).
All parents welcome to attend to find out what we do and how all parents can be actively involved. January and August meetings are dedicated to allocating funds to the school clubs and extra curricula activities. All parents will receive tea, cake, and a warm welcome! The PTA is the fundraising arm of the school’s Parent Forum and provides financial support to the clubs and activities available to all the young people within Hermitage Academy. Represented by a voluntary committee of S1 to S6 parents it is also supported by other parent helpers, the teachers who run the school clubs & local businesses for their donations. In total the PTA have raised and awarded over £33,000 to more than 70 school clubs and activities in the last 5 years.
As parents you are automatically a member of the PTA, but you can also join the committee in a more official capacity, particularly if you have a spare couple of hours a month, new to the school, want to meet like-minded parents, or would like to learn new skills for your CV! We are encouraging more S1 to S2 new parents to join right now – sadly we won’t be here forever!
The current committee come from a wide variety of backgrounds, and all with a diverse range of skills. We are from left to right: Nicole, Emer, Marie, Penny, Michele and Ian:

Interested in, getting involved or joining the committee?
Whilst your length of time in post can range from 1 to 3 years, this can vary depending on your personal commitments. The committee meets regularly 5 times a year to; plan fundraising events; share out funds to clubs; and explore new ways to boost funds that will make a difference to our kids!

- Donate Home baking or help to sell on our cake stall
- Spread the word about events – stick a poster in your car window
- Dress up as Santa or be an Elf at our Christmas Craft Fair
- Represent at Consultation/parents nights
- Help us to set up/clear away for events
- Sell raffle tickets!
- Join our ‘100 Club’ Raise funds & win some cash at the same time!
